I just finished reading and the author is my kinda woman... take no prisoners.I found the book inspiring, real and thought provoking. A lot of what the author tell women to do, I've been doing these things for years and did not know that I was "Owning the Room" I just thought I had to make my presence known as a Women and more specifically as a Black Woman because race was then and still is a major factor in Women of Color being taken seriously in some aspects of Corporate America.
So, the book will be of help to veterans of the business world as well as the soccer mom who is afraid to speak up at the PTA meetings.

This book is great for anyone who wants to do something about their lives or careers but are stuck or overwhelmed by the thought of it. Like ME! It is a really fun read that has solid advice and actionable steps to take to get going. I especially like the tone of it and when I finished it I was really excited about taking action on things I've been thinking about doing career-wise for over a year but was unsure of where to start. Definitely recommend it if you're looking for a inspiration AND "how-the-heck-do-I-acheive-it?" guide!
Reading this book is like getting the inside scoop on business from your mom's smart and sassy baby sister (the one who travels the world for Fortune 500 companies and would totally let you borrow her Chanel bag for a party.) Kelli Gilpin challenges readers to "bring it" in their career with her own infectious brand of moxie. Urging women to negotiate instead of accepting what's offered, and to be their own PR agent, Gilpin understands that the biggest stumbling block for most women isn't ability, it's confidence.
Bring It, Bitches! gives practical and easy-to-implement tips to increase personal presence, create rapport with others and demonstrate the confidence that leads to job offers, big projects and promotions. As a young female trying to survive in the business world I highly recommend this book!
Kelli breaks concepts down in to real life examples. She takes things that people actually think/say and puts it in writing. As your reading along, you can picture different people in your everyday life saying these things. Kelli helps you find the confidence within to respond to these situations that we tend to avoid. Within the book you will find step by step how to confront a situation with out insulting the other party. Also, to gain the respect of your peers and climb the ladder of success without stepping on toes.
Overall, this book doesn't just apply to your business life, but to your personal life as well. Kelli gives you some great insight on how to help your daughters/nieces/granddaughters/girls in general to find this strength within long before we all have. How we can lead by example for this younger generation. Help them to figure out the business world long before it limits their creative thinking and passion.
After reading several business-minded articles and books, this by far takes the cake. I've found the most applicable advice from Kelli. I can't wait to see what other things Kelli offers us!
